About this event:

The NCC-AIIM’s 2011-2012 Program Year focuses on the changes taking place within the realm of content management.    There is a shift going on in how organizations deal with and use information for streamlining business processes or obtaining competitive advantage and marketshare.  New systems of engagement are transforming the traditional systems of record that have been the focus of Enterprise IT since the era of the mainframe.

As a result, information professionals need help in managing information as an enterprise asset. The single most important factor for IT workers to consider in demonstrating their importance to the organization is to change their role from the overseer of technical plumbing and enterprise applications to one of optimizing and applying the information assets of the organization. Leaders within organizations are looking for more than technical expertise from IT; as pure technology expertise is rapidly being commoditized and can be replicated.

Organizations need information savvy executives that understand 3 things — 1) how information assets add value;  2) the imperative of breaking down monolithic enterprise applications into manageable parts; and 3) how breaking apps into manageable parts allows organizations to apply the lessons of consumer technologies to the enterprise.

Come prepared to ask questions and share your opinions – this is not your typical “talk at you” kind of event, but rather an interactive “town meeting”-style gathering designed to facilitate knowledge transfer and clarity regarding some of the most pressing issues of the day.
