About this event:

The NCC-AIIM’s 2011-2012 Program Year focuses on the changes taking place within the realm of content management.    There is a fundamental change in how federal agencies are working to cut waste, streamline business processes, while continuing to support privacy, records, 508 compliance and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

In support of one of the largest It Transformation initiatives in the federal government today, the Department of the Interior (DOI) is on target to cut $600 million dollars from its IT operating budget.  One of the key goals of the program is to consolidate the management and delivery of Federal Records for the Department.

The efforts of the Departments Records Officer will support this initiative by implementing several of the most advanced records and document management solution capabilities while consolidating information management and providing millions cutting waste in an effort to automate and support records management compliance for The Department of the Interior is a cabinet agency with over 80,000 employees and 180 volunteers located at approximately 2,400 operating locations across the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, and freely associated states.  The department operates on a $16.4 billion total annual budget and raises more than $6.3 billion in revenues collected from energy, mineral, grazing, timber, recreation, land sales, etc.
